RED screening at Glesga Women Make Films

My short film RED will screen on Thursday 22nd November at She’s En Scene alongside short films made by local Glasgow female-identifying filmmakers accompanied by a screening of Lynne Ramsay’s Ratcatcher. This will be an evening of celebration, discussion and connecting.

She’s En Scene is a Glasgow women’s community cinema screening films made by women. They host film screenings, discussions, workshops and events which aim to empower, encourage film discussion and creation and tackle social isolation within communities. Their aim is to level the playing field and encourage equality within the industry. All screenings are safe spaces for women, female-identifying and non-binary people. They are a not-for-profit cinema with social aims.

Really looking forward to this great wee evening! x

BFI Film Academy

Last week I was invited by BFI Film Academy to take part in one of their industry panels events. The event was for 16-19 year old aspiring filmmakers learning to take their scripts to screen. I sat on the panel alongside reps from Blazing Griffin, The Forest of Black, and Synchronicity Films. We each shared our personal stories on how we came to be film and tv makers, and offered tips on how to break into the industry. The strong consensus of the day was “When you love what you do - never give up.”

The vibe was strong. A great feeling to be in sync with peoples’ passions and drive. And I loved speaking directly with the young filmmakers….each of whom seemed totally invested…..inspiring! Thank you to BFI for such a rewarding day and inviting me :)
